If you have an interesting idea for an article to pitch us, send us an email using the form below. You can send a generalized query letter, or include your text in the body of the Message field below. We also entertain proposals for syndicated content if it matches our ethos and our editorial standards.

Book Reviews
If you’re an author and would like us to review your book, feel free to reach out using the contact form above. We’re always interested in covering work that aligns with the themes we explore here—hunting, fishing, conservation, outdoor life, the American West, and the stories that shape life in wild places. If your book falls within that world, we’re more than happy to take a look and consider it for coverage on The Upland Soul.
Query Information for Writers
The Upland Soul is rapidly moving toward launching our long-form publishing arm, with a focus on high-quality nonfiction rooted in the sporting life. We are currently accepting query letters for completed manuscripts ) in the following categories:
- Upland Hunting
- Big Game & Western Hunting
- Wildlife Conservation
- African Hunting
- Fishing (key focus on fly fishing)
We also accept novella-length manuscripts, collections of essays and — yes — anthologies. While primarily focused on nonfiction publications, we may also entertain certain works of fiction in the above categories (no short stories). When in doubt, drop us a line.
If you’re interested in publishing with us, please email your query letter to hello@theuplandsoul.com with the subject line QUERY: [Book Title]. Include the first two or three chapters pasted into the body of the email, along with your contact information and a brief author bio. If interested, we will respond within 30 days.
